Sleep is a Commodity

Yeah! You got it right.

Here at AIM, getting a full 6-7 hours sleep is a dream which doesn't usually come true unless you want to take a high risk of skipping a case or two. One of the major lessons that we have learnt in the last 2 months is to manage our sleep. Managing time will take time I guess ;-)

Normally there is just so much material to chew upon during a normal week that sleeping for more than 5 hours in a day is considered a crime. With classes in chunks during the day, one has to manage those 5 hours very carefully. After attending the classes and finishing his/her lunch, one comes back to the room and crack jokes with her roommates for a while before making a dash for the sack for an hour or less. After the beauty sleep, one forces herself to go through all cases of next day so that she has something to say during the CAN group meetings. Even if there is no CAN group meeting, one has to perpare for her CP (class participation).

CP here sometimes become DCP (Desperate CP), ACP (Afterclass CP) or BCP (Bull**it CP) but that will be another subject worth its own post later on.

The point is that the limited 5 hours of sleep are to be distributed very carefully in the 24 hours so as not to overdo it and get the maximum output. Afterall one doesn't want to fall asleep sitting on the first bench in the class.
